Great Results Guarantee


In 2015 our school received approximately $40790 as part of the Great Results Guarantee. 

Our school used this funding in three main ways:

  1. Purchase of teacher time for learning support including Levelled Literacy Intervention, curriculum development, mentoring, coaching and feedback as well as professional development.

  2. Additional Teacher Aide time to support morning reading programs.

  3. Resources to support literacy and numeracy programs at the school.

As part of this initiative the Implemented Strategies were to:

a.)  Embed the culture, climate, processes and protocols of classroom observation and feedback to support professional development and encourage reflective practice/action learning.

b.)  Provide mentoring, coaching and training for all teachers and teacher aides in the effective teaching and intervention of reading.

c.)  Provide Levelled Literacy Intervention for students not achieving benchmarks to improve reading comprehension and achieve year level appropriate benchmarks.

d.)  Provide professional development and coaching to ensure teachers are able to deconstruct Australian Curriculum: mathematics content and provide targeted and scaffolded instruction to secure highly effective first teaching of essential mathematical concepts and skills in every classroom.

Results of this initiative:

  1. In 2015, 92.3% of Year 3 students met National Minimum Standards in Reading compared to 76.5 in 2014.

  2. In 2015, 100% of Year 5 students met National Minimum Standards in Reading.

  3. 100% of Indigenous students in Year 3 and Year 5 met National Minimum Standards in Reading.

  4. The percentage of students in Years 1-3 in Mathematics achieving ‘C or higher’ results increased from 88% in 2014 to 93% in 2015.
